Shalom TV Connects With Comcast
New Cable Service to Launch in Philadelphia This Month

Shalom TV, a new digital cable television network celebrating Jewish culture, has signed a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) agreement with Comcast, the country's leading provider of cable, entertainment, and communications products and services. Comcast will make Shalom TV available in its flagship market of southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware on August 30. Shalom TV is America's first national Jewish television channel.
"Comcast is the signature cable company in nine of the top eleven Jewish markets in America, and the upcoming launch in Philadelphia and Northern Delaware has helped establish the nation's first Jewish television network," said Shalom TV President and
Chief Executive Officer Rabbi Mark S. Golub. The new network aims to provide "compelling TV to appeal to a broad spectrum of the mainstream Jewish community." Programs include news from Israel; Jewish and Israeli film; roundtable discussions; coverage of important Jewish events, presentations, and performances; children's programming; Jewish learning; historical documentaries; and more.
Shalom TV is the work of a veteran team of Jewish and television professionals committed to Jewish life, the Jewish tradition, and the State of Israel. Network CEO Rabbi Mark S. Golub has been involved in Jewish media for nearly forty years and was responsible for creating the first Russian-language channel for Jews immigrating to America from the former Soviet Union. His own background includes connections to all four major movements of American Judaism. Rabbi Golub has been meetings with important Jewish organizations in Philadelphia, including the Federation, the VAAD, Gratz College, and the Exponent, to introduce himself and Shalom TV to the Philadelphia area.
